"Casanovva” directed by Rosshan Andrrews and starring Superstar Mohanlal hits the screens on January 26th,today with full packed houses. The film revolves around Casanovva(Mohanlal), who owns Casanova’s Eternal Spring which deals in flowers and has an international network to supply them. In fact he runs the most successful flower business in the world. As the name suggests, Casanovva is a romantic who respects women and believes that love is the panacea for all crimes. He has a bevy of beautiful young ladies including former girlfriends and staffs, all of them eager to help him in the business. And knowing his soft heart and love of good life, four young criminals decide to use him to make to get rich quickly. How these four guys affect Casanovva's life?? That makes the thread of the flick.
The movie begins with a bang and though it slows down later, is able to keep the audience spell bound during the first half with spectacular actions, colourful song and dance sequences, dazzling visuals, and smooth flow. But like the proverbial climber who, after reaching the summit struggles to come down, the second half disappoints and does not live up to the expectations. On the whole however, the film entertains and amuses the audience.
Superstar Mohanlal is paired with as many as seven women in the movie, Shriya Saran, Lakshmi Rai, Roma Asrani, Sanjjana , Ria DSouza , Nova Krishnan and Dimple Rose.(not all his heroines,just female leads). But the film is Mohanlal centered and the actor has justified the faith put in him by the director. Once again the versatile actor has shouldered the responsibility in admirable fashion and his portrayal of Casanovva as a none-too perfect but gentle character is absolutely outsatanding. The cast includes Jagathy Sreekumar, Lalu Alex, Riyaz Khan and Shankar who fit into their roles perfectly well. The performance of the young artists are just average, nothing to write home about. Roma as usual is fetching and irresistible and part of the credit for choosing Roma should go to Roshan Andrews. Shriya Saran and Lakshmi Rai have also done their job quite well. Sanjjana is just average.
It has to be said that the story was written for Mohanlal and naturally, the performance of others has lagged behind by quite a distance.
Being the big budget film it is, there is no lack of expertise in the technical side; in fact one can state clearly that the movie is head and shoulders above the usual Malayalam movies. The art director, screen play writers, editors, photography, choreography and music have all performed their parts perfectly and without any blemish. Bobby-Sanjay screen play is Ok and fabulous is Jim Ganesh’s photography. Editing by Mahesh Narayan seems to be sensible and music by Gopi Sunder-Alphonse Joseph-Gowri is very pleasing.While the BGM is adequate. Alan Amin’s stunt scenes are stunning and electrifying!
The theme is different and risky, but Rosshan had the courage to take it up and the wisdom to hand it over to Mohanlal who is a natural in any role he portrays. All credit to the director.
If Casanovva works even just a bit, it's because of Mohanlal, whose charisma shines through. If you're a veteran of heist movies, and especially our own mass-masala movies, you should be able to guess the climax within the first ten minutes of the film. It is, in fact, the behind-the-scenes montage that's by far the best in the movie. Mohanlal's screen domination is an unusual treat for his fans! The film has to be seen in the right perspective. To sum up, Casanovva as a film is passable and falls short of what one would expect from a director like Rosshan Andrrews. Casanovva is stylish, entertaining and glamorous as the title shows it all.

Malyalam movie ‘Casanova’ finally hits the screens with aplomb. The movie is based around an entertaining and glamorous subject as the title shows it all. Roshan Andrews directs this venture under the production of Confident Group. The movie features Mohanlal, Shriya Saran, Lakshmi Rai, Roma and Jagathy Sreekumar in the lead roles. To doll up the music, many heads have been put together such as Gopi Sundar, Alphons Joseph and Gowri Lakshmi.

The movie was to release somewhere in the beginning of this year but due to some reasons, it was delayed and now hits the celluloid on December 16th all over.

The expectations from the movie are pretty high since the films of Roshan Andrews always get good reviews from the critics and are liked by the masses. Thus all and sundry have bigger hopes to see an alluring product on the silver screen. Roshan’s debut vehicle ‘Udhayannau Tharam’ has bagged the Kerala State Award for Best Debutant Director. The flick got hugely popular that it let many filmmakers of various regional languages make the remakes on. His second movie ‘Notebook’ too fetched big applauds and won Kerala film State Award. This flick then went on fetching the Filmfare for Best Film and Best Director for South India for the creative man.

Casanova is another glamorous flick made by him and the film has been well in news since the outset. The film carries big budget and took time to make it since the director wanted to give it proper time and international look.

The script of the movie has been penned by Bobby-Sanjay who previously wrote for Roshan’s Notebook.

South superstar Mohanlal has been roped in to play the main lead in the film. He essays the role of an international businessman who is also a charmer – a Casanova – the one who admires everything that is beautiful and heart-hitting whether she is a woman. He also owns an international chain of boutiques of the flowers ‘Casanova’s Eternal Spring’. This man is always surrounded by a number of sexiest and gorgeous ladies. He has the faithful ladies in his company who can do everything for him blindly. They are laced on his staffers, pals and ex-girlfriends. He works on the simplest philosophy of life ‘love cures everything’. Then the life changes altogether when four young business-minded criminals plan to make use of Casanova to get the quickest money. What happens next with him and whether the gang gets succeeded in its evil deeds is better to be watched on screen.

The execution is simply awesome. Roshan Andrews shows his mastery and his ability to be the super story teller. How brilliantly he brings the script on the screen is his skill? He deserves huge applauds for his creative work of art.

Script and story both are superlative and first rate. The viewer gets glued to the screens from the beginning till the finale and that’s the brilliance of the direction and script. Willim & Franz Spilhaus arrange the action sequences. Action is simply breath-taking. Editing is fantastic. Cinematography is classy and crispy – the international locales have been captured with aplomb. Music is spongy.

Mohanlal is impressive and he delivers the goods aptly by alluring the audiences. Shriya Saran looks sexy and enacts well. Lakshmi Rai is attractive with her part. Rest of the cast fills the bill as well.

Verdict

Casanova is another award-winning film for Roshan Andrews. He will certainly be fetching the awards for his latest product. The movie will see good business at the box office.

 Casanovva - The messenger of Love Hello Guys, Casanovva - the most expected and stylish movie which has been in the news for the last three years has got released in around 200 theatres. Atlast the movie is here to break all the collection records of mollywood. Everyone will have great expectation when the dream combo Acting Legend Mohanlal Sir, Direction perfectionalist Roshan Andrews and the Ace Script writers Bobby-Sanjay joins together. All the three have good track record and this is the reason why the movie got a sky high hype before its release. Here is our review about the Film Casanovva.

First of all we like to say all that Casanovva is not an action packed thriller, it is a 100% Love story with a some good action sequence. Casanovva is an admirer of all beautiful things especially womens. He is also the owner of �Casanova�s Eternal Spring�, an international chain of flower boutiques. Always seen in the company of the most beautiful women, he has at his beck and call a faithful array of female followers � staff, friends and former girlfriends � who will do anything for him. A man who is constantly awakening envy in all men and romance in all women, Casanova�s philosophy in life is simple � love cures all. With his penchant for the good life, it is little wonder that four enterprising young criminals decide to use him in their quest for some quick money. First half was simply good with an awesome interval punch even if there was a bit dragging and second half mostly concentrates on flashback & Casanovva's romance with Sameera(shriya). I am not going into not much story.

Coming to the performances, Mohanlal our lalettan has done a power packed and attractive performance as Casanovva. He was amazing with his appearances, cute smile, dances and actions. It seems this is the ever stylish character done by Mohanlal till date and he just lovable as Casanovva. We can bet you that none other than Mohanal could do this role as like this. All the heroines Shirya saran, Lakshmi Rai, Sanjana and Roma has done wonderfully. But the one to notice is Shriya Saran's character and the combination scenes between mohanlal and Shriya is that much awesome. The Villian's and all the others has also did justice to their roles especially Riyas Khan, Lalu Alex, Shankar, Dimple Rose etc..

The story is just simple and predictable, but the script and dialogues from bobby-Sanjay made it worth and strong. About direction and camera, there is nothing to say about it as Roshan Andrews and Gim Ganesh was successful in getting things to the screen. Song which got relased earlier this month has already been in the hit charts. The third one and the introduction song "Kanna nee.." is a good one and gave a great introdution to Casanovva's character. But we really misses the song "sakhiye sakhiye ..". Other improtant noticing factor is the BGM done by Gopi Sundar which meets what film needs.

Overall Casanovva is a Stylish Romantic film with a mediate action sequences. Its for you... Go watch and Fall in Love.. :)
